| [Brief Introduction] |
Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), chronic non-bacteria prostatitis and prostatodynia are the most common urinary diseases among elderly men. Surgical treatment for BPH has post-operative complications. Extended treatment of BPH with endocrine hormones also has significant adverse effects. An effective BPH therapy with low adverse effect is highly desireable.
Prostat has different pharmacological action from most of the common therapies for BPH, with a low occurance of adverse reactions. The course of treatment for BPH is long, so drug safety is especially important. |

| Film - coated tablet, tinny yellow - brown spots on surface. Yellowish inside after ripping off its coating. |
| [Pharmacological action] |
| PROSTAT prevents the transformation of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT), and it may block both leukotrien and prostaglandin synthesis. |

| [Dosage and administration] |
The recommended dose is one tablet twice a day, the course of treatment is 3 - 6 months, or consult your doctor.
Although rapid improvement is expected, 6 months of therapy with PROSTAT is recommended to validate a significant response. A longer therapeutic regimen with PROSTAT is sometimes recommended.
PROSTAT may be taken with or without food and no dosage alternations are required for patients with renal dysfunction and aging. |
| [Adverse reaction] |
| PROSTAT has been extremely well tolerated. the incidence of adverse reactions is low and include; mild meteorism, heartburn and nausea. These symptoms will disappear when treatment stops. |
| [Contraindications] |
| PROSTAT is not for use by children and those with hypersensitivity. |
| [Note] |
1. Clinical evaluation for conditions such as infection, urethral stricture, prostatic calculi, bladder neck sclerosis, cancer or other prostatic disorders which might imitate BPH should be made prior to initiation PROSTAT therapy.
2. PROSTAT should be kept out of the reach of the children.
3. Please do not tear up the aluminum foil before taking the tablets. |
